1.6. First Year Students: I want to try to place into a higher math course for fall. What are my options?

TAKE THE PPL ASSESSMENT: If you want to try to qualify for a course, make sure you have taken the PPL Assessment (Math Placement Test).  

  • Fall 2025 First Year Students can take their first attempt at the PPL through their Next Steps Center at no additional cost.  

SUMMER OPPORTUNITIES TO IMPROVE MY PLACEMENT: There are a few opportunities for students during the summer.

    • You can take a summer credit course through:
    • If you are not able to participate in New Start or take a summer course at your home college or University, you can review on your own before retesting.
