11.1. Major and Career Exploration

“The Strong” is a comprehensive and highly trusted major and career assessment. It compares a student's personal interests to real people in real careers, pointing them toward the majors, careers, and work environments where they're most likely to thrive.

Advisors in the A Center are Strong Certified and specially trained to help students understand their results and turn them into real next steps. All it takes is a 40-minute online assessment followed by a one-hour interpretation appointment with one of our advisors.

Advize - Career Wisdom on Demand

Advize is a free online platform where Wildcats can explore career paths and hear directly from working professionals, including Arizona alumni, to build the career awareness they need before pursuing a paid internship. For students who feel intimidated about reaching out to professionals, Advize is a practical first step.

It aligns with Step 4 of the Big 7, the Center for Career Readiness' roadmap to securing a paid internship, by helping students build the baseline career knowledge and confidence they need before having a conversation with someone in their field.

Students can create a free account using their university email at https://www.students.advizehub.com/login/university-of-arizona.

To see how Advize fits into the full internship preparation journey, visit the Big 7 at https://www.career.arizona.edu/channels/the-big-7. Advize was founded by Emily McSherry, a University of Arizona Eller College of Management alumna.
