3.15. I am taking/have taken Math 113, but now I need Math 122A/B for my new major. How can I get into it?

Students may either re-take the Placement Test to test directly into Math 122A, or they may take Math 120R (Pre-Calculus) to fulfill the prerequisites for Math 122A/B.

Math 113 is Brief Calculus (essentially Calculus-without-the-Trig). The prerequisites for Calculus I (Math 122A/B) are successful completion of Math 120R (Pre-Calculus), that is passing with a C or better. By taking Math 113, the student has demonstrated mastery of College Algebra, since that is a prerequisite for Math 113. However, these students are missing the trigonometry component. Even if the student can test directly into Math 122A/B, they may appreciate a solid review of trig before going into Math 122A/B.
